Voigtlander meters on S2

I've been mulling over getting a VC or VCII meter for the camera, and wondered about the different form factor of the two models. The II looks squatter and wider, so does it interfere with anything topside? And how do they differ in operation? Does one work better than the other, such as better response?

I've used a CVII meter on Nikon RFs and it works fine (it looks ugly but that's another story 🙂). The meter's shoe can be attached in two positions on the underside of the meter. One position is for Leica bodies and the other position is for Nikon RF bodies (so the meter clears the shutter speed dial).

I've owned both and kept the II, it's much better and refined than I for the following reasons:
1. slimmer, basically 2/3 the height of CVI
2. when reading the exposure on the CVII, the shutter speed and aperture will match each other, allowing you to also read the exposure if you wanted +/-1 reading as well, whereas on the CVI, when you get the exposure, both aperture and shutter speed points up separately

Thanks, Jon and Earl. It would stand to reason the II is an improved model, with Cosina learning from photographers feedback, and planning ahead by making the shoe transferable.
