I have a question about the Voigtlander Perkeo IIIe. The ½ moon-shaped window on the top-right corner (when the camera is up to your eye) of the top plate that shows the rangefinder distance settings, is there supposed to be some sort of glass or plastic inside the top plate protecting/covering that opening?

See attached:

Thx

Brad

If you feel the urge?????

If you feel the urge?????

If you feel the urge to go hunting under the top cover for the light clear plastic windows, or to replace them, AND if the film double prevention and film count mechanism is working properly before pulling the top cover..... I encourage you not to be tempted to clean up or tinker with all those gears.

I really like the Perkeo's, but have had terrible luck with the film count mechanism which I assume is the same on the II as on the III or E.

So far, I have not found anyone who works on folders who will touch the film count mechanisms on the Mamiya, Voigtlander, or Balda cameras. If you know of someone, please post here.

I have two Perkeo II's with the count gears removed, since they are then as simple as the Perkeo I's but with the Color Skopar and Compur Shutter.
