Voigtlander Superb - Oldie and goodie

Frank Marshman installed a Hassy split screen in my Voigtländer superb to improve focusing. While it made focusing in the center really quick, in bright daylight I basically can only see a circle image at the center due to dark corners, making composition extremely hard.
I asked him if he thought a fresnel above it would help a bit and he answered probably.

So I ask you guys if you got or can direct me any decent fresnel screens to put on the split screen for me to buy? I've been checking Ebay but my lack of experience with Fresnels doesn't help. I'm up for cutting if needed, no problem.

Very nice images, Andreas....

Glad to see you have your Superb working.

Did you wind-up sending it to Frank Marshman ?

Regards,

Luddite Frank

Just a little bump after some experimentation with the "Heliar" I still had in my locker.

Apparently I got a Heliar front lens group and a Skopar rear group. Anyone with a spare heliar rear group?

That explains a lot, then. Incredibly bad luck. Who contrived this chimera of Voigtlander glass? I'd like to know so that I can make sure I never, ever buy a camera from them. In summary I suppose what you are looking for now is a completely banged up Superb that still has half decent glass, right? If I encounter a suitable Superb donor, I shall let you know.

An unpleasant prospect is that there might also be a Superb out in the wild, somewhere, with a Skopar front group and Heliar rear group. Unlikely, some would say. After all, who would be duplicitous enough to do that? Err...
Cheers,
Brett

I mostly surprised of the combo as the Heliar is the more valuable one and it is usually the front croup that gets damaged. So the logical thing would be the opposite.

And yes, I only need half a lens to make a second working Superb.
