OK, here is the deal. I have sold some lenses and now have a little money to burn. I have a Sekonic L-308S meter. It's great. Sometimes I just don't like pulling it out of my pocket or whatever to check the light. And wish I had a meter on my vintage camera. So, any of you using the Voigtlander meter? The other option is to have a my vintage meter from a Nikon SP repaired.

I have used both of these. I sold the Voigtlander and kept the Sekonic. To me, it's fiddly and slow to try to take a reflective reading from a scene constantly with the CV meter, and the meter always felt loose in the accessory shoe of my M2. Whereas with the Sekonic, I'm able to look at and understand prevailing light conditions better, and when I don't feel like taking it out, I have enough experience from using incident readings in different situations that I can guess at exposure.

A nice incident meter like the Sekonic is also preferable to old electronics in vintage meters.

Personally, I would stick w/the Sekonic & just get more film or whatever, particularly if you're going to be shooting in low light, as it goes down to EV 0, whereas the VC II only goes down to EV 1. Similarly, even if you had it fixed by Quality Light-Metric, the vintage Nikon meter is only good for daylight if uses selenium & brighter artificial light if it's CdS like the Leica-meter MR. Also, as others posted, you have the advantage of being able to take incident readings w/the Sekonic.

I'd definitely keep the Sekonic, the VC is fiddly. On my Sekonic I knocked out the white screen in the flash attachment and it makes a better reflective meter than the uncovered sensor.

I bought my 308 when my minolta IV died.
I bought it as a temporary thing till i could another IV.
Well i never ended getting another mk3, been totally happy with the 308.
The battery in mine has been there a while. when i was in adorama last time i checked it against a new sekonic fancy model auto IV styling. Difference repeatedly + 0.2 of a stop still using the old battery. I cant complain about that. Much as i loved the autometer IV and it looked cool and all, I just cant fault the 308.
I suppose its crime is it looks kinda unassuming and mundane. It justs gets the job done !!
