Diversifying slightly from my usual Vito B focus I picked this Vito IIa up in a junk shop a few days ago for next to nothing.

Its in excellent condition. Cosmetically the only real fault I can find is a really small ding on the top right corner of the top plate (with the lens pointing towards you). Other than than it very clean and the optics are beautifully clear.

It could do with a CLA as it has the usual Prontor shutter issue at slow speeds. 30s and above are OK though so its perfectly useable as it is.

Came with the original ER leather case - sound but missing the strap. Its cleaned up nicely and looks presentable after a good wax and polish. I dont really use these cases, I prefer a neoprene padded wrap to carry cameras in my rucksack.

Ergonomically I think that its better than the Vito B - everything is positioned in a way that really suits how my brain works.

I may have to get another...............

Ive been quoted what I consider to be a really good price for a CLA by Simon Whitehead in West London. Will be posting it to them tomorrow!

I love the little Vito series! I have a Vito B that looks like it is brand-new, and a REALLY heavily used original pre-war Vito (did they call them Vito 1?). The Vito 1 works perfectly but unfortunately the B has stopped firing its shutter; getting it serviced probably won't happen for awhile. I really need to do something about that.

I have a Voigtländer Vito II that I plucked out of a bin of old cameras that one of the curators at a local museum was rolling to the dumpster some years ago. He was kind enough to let me fish about in the bin and pull out a few cameras to use as shelf dressing ... This one, after sitting on my shelf for almost a decade, I sent off to the shop for a full CLA and service when I realized that there wasn't anything overtly broken about it, it was just dirty as all heck and likely gummed up with years and years of hardened lubricants and neglect.

Its shutter needed one small part that was worn out, and they did a stunning job of restoring the whole camera. 😀
It works very well: Vito II Photos - Roll #3

Good luck with your Vito IIa! 😀
