Voigtlander Vitomatic IIa Pics

Here are some pictures on Kodak Ultramax 400 through the new to me Voigtlander Vitomatic IIa with a Color Skopar 2.8 lens. I think that some of these shots exhibit that warm Voigtlander "glow" that I have read about.

Oh and by the way, all these shots were made using the settings recommended by the still working Selenium lightmeter.

Those Vitos are amazing and a surprisingly large number of them still ticking without the need for a CLA. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing your images vonfilm. I also have a Vitomatic IIa and adore it: the Color Skopar 2.8 is a lovely lens, as you have amply demonstrated. Your images are showing me what I'm missing by mainly using it with b/w film.

I'm the happy owner of the Vito's big brother, the Prominent, with 50 f2 Ultron, 35 f3.5 Skoparon, and 100 f4.5 Dynaron, and I agree with the others' opinions that these 1950s Voigtlander cameras and lenses are amazingly good, particularly with colour film.

Nowadays they are incredibly good value for money and seem to be vastly under-rated for some inexplicable reason.

unfortunately my older sister inherited (or snatched, rather) by grandfathers IIa when he passed.... and of course she never uses it, nor will she lend it........

I do like the color tone of the pics above, the saturation borders on positive film, due to the higher "vivid" factor, for which it was made.

I always love the Voigtländer Pics and also my Voigtländer Vitomatic IIIb. The old Voigtländer lenses are amazing!
