W/NW - Alleyways

Your US alleys are wider than our main streets :D

One from this same afternoon (P + Summitar)

I took this one back in June of this year. I had no lightmeter with me. I had only a few seconds to take it before the person walking down the alley would disappear (or somebody else from the building would come out).

Applied basic Sunny/16 rule, quickly adjusted for shutterspeed (max 1/500) and aperture w/2 stop compensation with K2 filter... I'm surprised I got this shot at all.

This is with my 'rangefinder-like' Pentax istDS2 (my R-D1 doesn't like the cold). Just got a used smc-a 50/1.4 and had to rush out to try it. No hood, hence the flare in the upper left. Squeezed this off at 1/15s.

Cheers,
Kirk

This is an alley somewhere in Gent, Belgium. To the right is a church where the wedding of one of my wife's collegues was going on. My son didn't like the service much and preffered running arround outside. I didn't object.

::sigh:: how I miss southern France. Specially right now, we have a pseudo-freak snow storm in Minne-so-tah, and although I like Shostakovich once in a while, I think it wasn't the right call ... I chose the wrong string quartets. I should play something a little warmer, but not so warm it's mocking.

Napoli

Napoli

Alleys in Europe are usually very narrow. This one is in Napoli, Italy.
Very narrow indeed. It only looks wide because of the 15mm.
I used the Heliar for the first time abroad in Napoli.

Oh yes, Sensa Unica means one way traffic!

Rob.
