W/NW Are, Bure, Boke

I posted this the other day on the film noir thread, but thought it was probably more appropriate for this thread. As much as anything, to see if I can wake up this thread again, one of my favorites.

Maybe thread died because everyone went digital. Cleaner! Sharper! Resolvier! Cheaper(allegedly).

Digital no can do Are.

Had I known all these years that "Are, Bure, Boke" was actually an image genre, I could have claimed that this image was intentional...

粗れ, (手)ぶれ　ボケ(惚け),
rough un-refine, shaking or vibration, (bu-re is short for vibration in Japanese),
boke, 惚け, is blurry...
Ah Sooo...
