Possibly the only landscape photo I have made in the last 25 years. I was photographing local people and their culture in the remote agricultural town of Banao, Cuba several years ago when I came across the local graveyard. I was carrying my typical kit which consists of a 35mm rangefinder with a 28mm lens and a pocket full of Tri-X but shot this one frame.

For years I thought I was the only person who had ever photographed in Banao. Then I came across the same scene photographed by Clyde Butcher, noted for his LF landscapes in the Florida Everglades. I never knew he had even been to Cuba. See https://clydebutcher.com/s/photographs/banao-2-cuba/
