There's not much sense of scale, but this is a close up detail of a small feature. The protruding ridges are probably around 1/2 inch tall (10mm). Valley of Fire State Park is known for its red sandstone, and this feature was probably created by erosion.

I really like these, especially the second image.

What exactly is a 2X yellow filter? Is it like a darker/deeper yellow, or are you simply stacking two normal yellow filters?

Thank you for your attention to the pictures!
I have a denser filter than the usual yellow 1.4X, its full name is "ZhS-18", this is an old nomenclature (I'll look in old books for its density now), visually it is a little denser in color.
To be honest, in these particular shots there is no mention of a filter in the frame file name and I can only guess. What kind of filter was used then, most often I use O2.8X, Red - very rarely - too much contrast, simple yellow - weak effect, yellow-green 2X - similar to orange in effect.
Thanks again for your attention to this point - now I am just selecting a full set of filters for Mamiya Press and was just thinking that I should look for a denser pure yellow and compare it with yellow-green and pure green.
I didn't use two filters at the same time - too much light loss, only on a digital camera I used two or three neutral gray H-4 filters to catch lightning and for long exposures)))

Oh! I looked in the books for a quick glance and got even more confused))) - the old nomenclature indicated only the type of glass (without taking into account the thickness), the new one - the multiplicity of the entire filter. The transition to a new nomenclature became clear.
