Great picture! It captures the effort of the rider as well as it shows the mood of the crowd.

I've been on Mont Ventoux in 2000, the day Marco Pantani won with Lance Armstrong being second. Having cycled up there, you can really judge how hard it is even for the pros to reach the summit.

thanks. that´s true, really hard from bedoin, hardest between km 3 and 2 from the finish line. i took it easy this time, starting at sault, where the gradient is much lesser.
