Nice machine there Sug, i had a fixed gear when I was in SF, it was fun, but also punishment on the hills! a 2 or 3 gear is much more reasonable ......
Yeah I hear ya. That was the idea with this build. It has 2 speed internal hub so you can shift down for the uphill, and you can coast down the hill unlike fixed gear, AND it has coaster brake in the hub so you do have two brakes.

Or, like me, you could have a three speed fixed (Sturmey Archer S3X)
