Thank you, Mike! The S.S. Point Reyes shipwreck is in Inverness, California, a small town on the west shore of Tomales Bay about an hour north of San Francisco. It's a popular local landmark and photographic attraction. There used to be more of the shipwreck, but a few years ago, the stern of the boat was destroyed in a fire:

Evinrude, I believe, pre-war? Opposed twin 2-stroke. In the early 1950's the older brother of a childhood buddy had one that looked like this. Even then rather primitive-looking!
