Three very old boats.

Three very old boats.

These old rowing boats are beside an old Lime Kiln which dates from around 1800. The Kiln is cracking and falling bit by bit into the sea.

HMS Trincomalee

By a quirk of fate it was built for a war in 1817 but the war ended before it was ready and it was never used in anger. It's a frigate (38 guns) based on a captured French ship, built of teak in India at Trincomalee. Currently afloat at the The National Museum Royal Navy Hartlepool. Beautifully restored and worth a few hours to explore and marvel at. You get access to the entire ship and can go right down to below the water line.

The Coast Guard ship Diligence has one or two small cannons, I think. But I made the image because the crewman was on his phone with a storm coming down the Cape Fear River. Also, the Coast Guard isn’t really about war....

I think the OP was using "warships" to label his example of the category of "ships" for this thread (and his photo and some later ones didn't load now due to broken links), not that the intent was limited to warships...
