I only take portraits of dogs, Ricardo. Although I have no photographic evidence to back this up, I can tell you that Richard does not qualify.

My 90 is also my least used lens (I tend to use a 50mm 80%+ of the time) but I do like it a lot (sharp or not).

The ears look to be in good sharp focus. It looks like the minimum focus was the problem. DOF for a 90mm at f/2.8 and 3' is less than 1 inch. Even at f/22 the DOF is only around 6" which dosn't cover the entire head.

No, I don't mind, I'm curious what you did! I cleaned up some dust and resized, I tried USM but decided against since it grew worse then.
