Some view "churches" as physical structures. Others of us view the term as embodying the spirit of what those who gather inside believe, think, and do. Neither is right or wrong, just different ways of interpreting a term.

This is the Basilicade Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre in Havana Cuba. The event is the annual 8th of September Festival de la Caridad celebrating the Patron Saint of Cuba. This was the date in 1612 when the famous statue of the black or mixed race woman holding the white child was found totally dry while floating in the Bay of Nipe in eastern Cuba.

The woman or saint being honored is the Blessed Virgin Mary to Catholics and the saint Ochún to Santeria. Both religions celebrate simultaneously in the same place. Ochún is represented by the color yellow which gives some indication of the religious beliefs of those here.

While everyone else's interpretation of "churches" is quite literal, bordering on puritanical, mine is more open minded.

I saw this tent revival while passing through Mobile Alabama on Interstate #10 and took the next exit to double back and visit. Brother Reid had his huge tent set up to heal and save souls. This man accepted Jesus and was immediately healed of his asthma.
