Taken a long time ago. No one knows who the architect was. It was built in 25 years, a record. The rich gave money, the poor gave labor and pulled carts with the limestone blocks used to build the cathedral. They stopped every hour for prayer and meditation. This is Chartres, no ordinary cathedral.
