I cannot find the files themselves so I will provide links. This first shot is of the Cathedral of Chartres. It was built upon an older church. That church was built upon a Roman temple which was built upon a Druid temple. The site has been held as sacred for thousands of years. As you drive south from Paris on N20 in the late summer you drive through fields of wheat. Then you drive over a small hill and in the distance in the cathedral, seemingly levitating in the wheat fields. The illusion is created by the fact that Chartres is in a valley and the cathedral is on a hill. So only the cathedral can be seen. Now, imagine yourself as a pilgrim in the Middle Ages, trudging south on your pilgrimage to this cathedral, floating as it were in a field. Hmmm. Yes, you would be moved.

And this is inside the cathedral, considered the Parthenon of France. It is magnificent. Go. See it.
