W/NW - Classic Cars

For me, the picking's have been non-existent this month. Nothing, Nadda, Zero!

I can only imagine that this hot weather is keeping the classic cars at home in their garages.

I'm still looking, hope to spot one soon!

Mike...as the owner of a 1969 VW Beetle I normally don't drive it in extreme heat or rain...
Owner's that have labored over their drivable beauties really do baby them that much...hopefully when it cools down more will come out of their safe havens...

Wow, a VW with a roll cage, nerf bar bumpers, and is that an aftermarket anti-roll bar that I see underneath?!

What do you do with this car?

Murray,

This was my first car that I bought around 1979/80...back then I started fixing it up. When the transmission broke I had it rebuilt completely for street racing...(it has in all in there). Then I had a motor built to match the trans, we decided on 2017cc.
The 2017cc version currently is a bit different from the original design...bigger cam, better heads, bigger/heavier clutch.
Bigger Anti-Roll bars front & rear, front disc brakes and many other upgrades over the years.
Back in the early 80's I did a ton of street racing...currently I try my hardest to NOT stomp on the loud pedal too much.

Sam I see you put a lot of work in that little car. With the big motor and light weight it must be peppy! What's the estimated HP?

Doug...I have no clue on its HP...
At my parents house I would go to the top of the street, three houses up, and punch it...by the time I got to our house I was doing 60 MPH in second gear...all in 3 seconds...
I raced and beat many 911's and 5.0 Mustang's back in the day...
