Figured this was already here since it's such an obvious subject but I did a search and found nothing.
Prompted by the sunset this evening.
Ricoh GR-D, 64iso, slight levels adjustment, shot from the front seat of my truck
The second shot is a 100% crop showing a jet that I noticed. Can you spot it in the full image?
Edit: I didn't look at the web version of this at first. There's no way you can see the jet

MikeL: That area is very nice. Been there a few times. It looks like the birds are attacking your people there
xabi: I like how you encircled the center angel with the hole in the clouds.

The best camera is one that still works!
At eighteen thousand feet ... you sometimes get the pleasure of looking at the clouds from above.

That's an interesting green tint Keith. What caused that? Any color adjustments?
Edit: Is that a person in the lower right corner? Now I'm confused. I thought you were in an airplane. Is this a window reflection or were you climbing Everest?

Yes it's odd ... a lot of the shots have it and some have a blue tint? Maybe fifteen year old kodachrome slides and a cheap scanner at the time are the cause ... I have now upgraded the scanner! Someone suggested to me a UV filter would have been the go ... but back then I was having enough trouble mastering the camera let alone understanding filters. High altitude UV is uniquely intense I have heard!

Ah, the age and scanner and uv probably explain the color. What about the person in the photo?

In the gloom of underexposure and weird light there are actually quite a few people ... we were going over a pass in the Nepalese Himalaya at very high altitude and at least half the group were suffering the effects ... some quite badly!

The guy who set it up even wrote a (very good) book, all about the different cloud types and how they form. Very interesting stuff.

Melanie: Beautiful shots. Where were these taken? The top one looks like some of the country roads in Contra Costa around Crockett/Martinez. *sigh* I miss the Bay Area...
