Havana by semrich, on FlickrWonderful photos! A visit to Cuba is on my bucket list. I would hope that the travel restrictions to Cuba from the USA will be lifted in my lifetime. It amazes me that we (the USA) openly interact with every other nominally communist country on the planet with the exception of Cuba. Face it, we lost this one. Time to move on.

Havana by semrich, on FlickrHi, Damaso. Yes, I suppose you can legally go, with an approved "cultural, educational, business-specific" license (or, of course, through a third country) but, as you say, they are expensive. Not quite the same as "show your passport at the gate" travel.
Regardless, a fine series of photos from you and the others. I have a copy of the 1989 Pantheon release of Walker Evans - Havana 1933, and I would imagine certain views would be strikingly similar to what Evans would have captured.
sevres_babylone, I really like the concentration you captured with the chess players, great shot.
