Our two new rescue Whippets who arrived about a month ago. Blimey...they have a lot of energy!
Luna (5) and Willow (10). They ended up in a shelter after their elderly owner died last year. Not sure if they are mother & daughter or unrelated, but they are very bonded.
They seem to be enjoying their new home

Dogs are perhaps the only creatures capable of unconditional love, something which comes more naturally to them than it does to most humans. No one who has ever been on the receiving end of that love has ever thought “ it’s just a dog”.
Sorry for your loss, it’s rough. At some point in the future a new puppy can help. It won’t replace, but it can help, even if it might not seem so right now.
Best wishes.
Lovely ….
When I lost Lucy my Cocker Spaniel I soon after got another , Poppy.
It was difficult at first but I`m pleased that I did.
Oh and then I got another , Lettice![]()
Very glad to see these (especially the unbearably tender portrait of her wrapped in a coat).
Mortal love breaks our hearts. But by means of art, we may repair the breaks with gold, like the Japanese do with cherished ceramics.

Thanks Larry. They're settling in really well. Definitely got their feet under the table, eating us out of house and home, always pushing me off the sofa, gleefully trailing mud everywhere, wrecking our just-made bed, and slowing destroying the garden...
We're absolutely loving it!

Here's my Brittany, Piper, and Bassett buddy Rondo.
Had been shooting with newly acquired Pentax K1000. Good looking example, but, about 1 of 6 shots would have a vertical line through the frame, with different exposure on either side -- shutter speeds of 1/30 or 1/250. I guess that's from one shutter curtain slowing up...? Odd that it's not consistent.

What a profile! Very nice.
Her profile (and personality) occasionally remind us of the dragons in Game of Thrones

If and when I'll ever settle down in one particular place close to a fenced dog park, I will adopt a greyhound. They are healthy; they are couch potatoes, and they don't bark often. A canine version of Oblomov.

They are wonderful dogs. A bit too big for us, so we went for Whippets instead. And I don't think you would need a fenced dog park for a Greyhound. Most seem to be happy to plod along on the lead for a 30 minute walk before flopping onto the sofa for another ten hours!
