And this is Myss Juanita Russell, our rescue. Her name at the rescue was Mystique, we thought that a bit much so we shortened it to Myss. The Juanita Russell came from her being half Chihuahua and half Jack Russell. Juanita because she's a she.

Wow, here I joined RRF in 2007 and never knew this thread existed. Cat threads yes, but dog threads, had no idea.
This pic was taken in the summer of that same year (2007) with my fairly newly acquired Leica M8 with a VC 50mm f1.5 .
"Brothers in Arms". These actual siblings were re-united after being separated at birth 4 months later and the one on the right was never socialized with dogs nor people and was somewhat fearful of the world. His brother on the left never left his side showing him the way of the world and brought him out of his shell. Unfortunately the one on the right died a fairly early death due to illness (which devastated his brother)...who lived until just 10 months ago. The recently deceased brother faced many other animal loses during his lifetime (for this happy go lucky dog), the last which broke his spirt in ways that were astonishing and completely confounded his Vet and Vets specializing in dog behaviors. For us he and his brother were truly one of a kind. We now have others but those two never left our hearts.

Nice account, thanks for posting. Dogs are people too. Better people, as often as not. I’ve seen pretty much the same behavior in other pairs.

I couldn't agree more of what you said about dogs...they have emotion, feelings and empathy. I also appreciate your kind words. Yes, a pair of dogs don't have to be actual "genetic brothers to have a very close bond and the care and concern they show one another is a lesson many of us can learn from.Nice account, thanks for posting. One week old today. By far the smallest in the litter. Touch and go all week. We have been supplementing her nursing, feeding tube progressing to a bottle and she now looks like she will be fine. Bearded Collie.

This is my favourite thread. I took a long break from RFF but I don’t think I posted this one. It’s our dear old Staffie Nellie. Taken on her last day with us. I’m so glad I took my camera. Look at those eyes.

Staffies are the goodest of good dogs. That’s a wonderful shot of an old pup
