Clarksdale Mississippi: inmate from the once notorious Parchman Farm waiting to be picked up at the end of his work day at the county courthouse to be transported back to the prison. The prison bus was over an hour late but he declined my offer for a ride insisting he was not going to leave his designated pickup spot.
I am really liking some of the recent posts that are more than a portrait done outside but also include some of the environment that helps put the subject into perspective.
Cueto, Cuba - our ex- postman who somehow had a total brain scramble a few years ago and now makes no sense at all. Fortunately Cubans love their crazy people and everyone looks after them as if they are a treasure. He has carried this red flag for identification for years and dresses strangely usually using old CD's as decoration. The machete is a new addition but he is harmless. I photograph him often as we both like it.
Holly molly, Shac! That's outstanding! I love the light and the poses. Not really waht I would define as "environmental protrait" but amazing work. It almosts reads as a painting at first glance.
