Bob Michaels - Looking at your this lovely pic of your friend Flaca I remembered that I had met and befriended a local photographer named Eduardo very close to this spot . He was shooting with a film Leica and worked at the bar of a nearby hotel . I wonder if you know him? He's the only street photographer I ever came across in Cuba. We went out on a couple photowalks together and I left him a few rolls of film before leaving La Havana.
Cueto, Cuba: our garbageman. He comes by several times a week but not on a fixed schedule. He is compensated by the the sale of the recyclable beer bottles and cans in the trash. His job is unofficial but the community simply acknowledges this is his route and no one intrudes. There is never any food waste in the garbage as that is placed in an outside bucket that a neighbor picks up to feed his pigs.
