A variation on the theme would be performers playing to the camera. I've considered starting a new thread for that, specifically, but, wasn't sure it was different enough, or would be well enough populated.

This thread is similar but different than "The Look" (the EYE!) where the original intent was the look of disapproval when shooting people in public, and they don't like it. In this one it seems more of a "general eye contact".

David, I think you meant "The Look". But yes, it's hard to know the original intent of a particular thread, and they often take a life of their own.
