That made me smile. Back when I was just lurking RFF, I noticed somewhere in another thread you had posted a picture taken around Pasco as well.

I love the cute little village of shops surrounding this gazebo. I took this picture because the symmetry contrasted with the upturned chairs and slight disrepair. I took this on a Sunday when it was deserted. I hope I communicated how unsettling it was. I moved to Washington when I was a boy and have lived in the Tri-Cities ever since. One of my earliest memories here was visiting Badger Mountain Community Park down the street from where this photo was taken and seeing warning signs: remote area: watch for rattlesnakes. I had never had to worry about rattlesnakes before. It was deathly quiet and we were the only family there that day. Each step I took was weighed with creeping dread. I didn't see a rattlesnake that day. And in the twenty-one years since, I never have.

Thanks! Very near symmetry. Behind where you were standing was/is a hall used for the wedding reception. The bride was the daughter of a friend of my wife's associated with Girl Scouts which at the time had a local council office in Richland. We're north of Yakima.
I share your caution about rattlers... I've had only one encounter while photographing in Frenchman's Coulee near George... I was climbing up a slope of loose scree to get a different viewpoint and heard the warning rattle. I just sorta levitated back down the slope in a hurry, never saw the snake.
