W/NW Film Noir

I used to think of "film noir" as movies like Chinatown or The Maltese Falcon, but after watching Twin Peaks this summer, my concept has shifted to something that is often described as "Lynchian". It involves crime, probably murder, danger to vulnerable females, and a bit of 'other reality-ness'. Here is a sequence of a dozen pictures (over 4 posts) that illustrate this trend in my own photography:

Lynn, Helen, you've both got the film noir thing down. Nice work.
Lynn, have you added grain to the shots you posted with the LX3 and the Nikon V1? For whatever reason, it looks more like believable grain than digital noise. Which is nice.

Sorry only just saw your question now Larry. Thanks for the compliment! The LX3 shots were ISO1600 with no added grain, so that's sensor noise. The Nikon V1 was ISO3200 with digital grain added in LR4.

BTW the Canon 6D high ISO noise is also very film-like.
