Thanks, FWIW I get a lot more pleasure from the primroses appearing in the woods as they mean winter is over and spring has begun.



It's a pity they don't draw the crowds like the orchids at Kew Gardens. And there's wild orchids in the woods but no one seems to notice them either...

I recall as a child going out to pick the primroses (correctly forbidden now). Needless to say when I saw a bank of them recently I didn't have a camera with me.

It's at this time of year I used to drive the lanes of Cornwall in an open top Morgan, and the variety of orchids on display was spectacular. Too much of a Mr Toad then though.

Those were the days my friend; we thought they'd never end.


A modern note, a few minutes from my house there was a huge clump of primroses beside the road. Went home got the camera and when I got back there was a just hole in the ground! 'nuff said?
