My Dictionary says, Grain = a granular appearance of a photograph or negative, which is in proportion to the size of the emulsion particles composing it.

Panasonic's version of Tri-X

The Panasonic ZS5 has a built-in "film mode" that tries to emulate B&W film. Check out the grain in the 100% crop. I found it sort of funny to see this in a point-and-shoot.

Kentmere 400 again, shot at 400, 1-4 Tmax, 6 minutes @ 68F.
I thought of Rob Klurfield when I saw these images and framed them for the shots while going on a bout of geocaching. (I hope you are not insulted, Rob.)
