W/NW: Imprints

I am at the point where I realize I hardly ever click on the thumbnails to expand them - and if the attachment is a link odds are I will never click on it.

It's 2006 people - leave your dial-ups, get a free flickr, etc account and start posting PHOTOS in photo threads - not links/thumbnails.

I swear..if there was a way to 'refuse' attachments in w/nw threads I'd select that every time I'd create one as it really, really ruins the experience in viewing these threads.... :)

really, you can't take two seconds to click a thumbnail and then the back button? wow. You must be a busy man.

It is much nicer to just scroll through a thread rather than having to faff about clicking thumbnails then navigating back, over and over again.

It's not so much about being busy. It's the fact that it - to me - ruins the experience in viewing W/NW threads. I respect your opinion though.

This discussion is happening in 2 threads simultaneously.

AS I said, dial up is the only option for some folks. I don't think we should abandon them because the "viewing experience is ruined" for others.

That being said, if this (thumbnails vs.large images) could be an option that individual users could configure, that would satisfy everyone.

It would help if there was an agreed size to pictures in threads, with say a long side of 650 or 800 pixels being the maximum.

As I understand it, to have the full-size photo appear in the thread, it has to be somewhere already on the internet? I have my photos cataloged with software on my hard drive, easy to find quickly for insertion in a thread. I don't have any place on the 'net to upload my photos, and I'd prefer not to futz around creating/arranging one just for this purpose. At least Jorge made the thumbnails much larger a while back...

Doug, Photobucket is free and very easy to use.

For anyone else stuck recently with only an icon for a pic posted in a thread, this "broken" feature is now fixed and thumbnails will appear. In my post #5 above I removed the attached pic and uploaded it again, forcing the thumbnail to appear. Ray, you may be the only other one in this thread so afflicted... :)

I just don't have everything that I've ever shot hosted somewhere, so to participate using inline would require several steps. I'll try to post more inline.
