Since I registered, I haven't been a very active member of the RFF community and that for one main reason: currently my life is a bit in "shambles" both from the financial and logistical point of view. Those factors have been detrimental to shooting as much as I would have liked. It has been an immense pleasure, though, to follow the different threads of the great forum that RFF is, and I have learned a lot through the opinions, advice and experiences all fine Folks here have shared.
Fortunately, my financial situation is slightly improving and these past couple of weeks I have been able to shoot "til my index bleeds". As soon as I will have a new apartment, I will be in the market for a flatbed scanner and will develop my own "true" B/W film.
These days my companions are Kodak's BW400CN film and an excellent yet affordable lab here in Geneva. I bring in my rolls in the morning to be ready in the evening for a dev+CD only at the cost of CHF15.50 for the first roll and CHF10 for any other one, brought in at the same time: an honest price, IMHO. As for the media itself, they sell it at CHF6.35/36exp which is also very affordable.
Sorry for the long-winded introduction, but I wanted you to have a general idea on the "state of my mind" I found myself in while shooting "from the hip" or "from the thigh" on a number of days, in the means of public transportation in the city I elected as my domicile. Since I think that in order to improve, one has to share one's work with a larger community, I decided to open a new thread, dedicated to photoraphs taken "in transit" as in public transportation.
I will allow myself to share a couple of thoughts about each picture. I encourage you to critique this attempt of mine to capture the mood of Geneva's diverse "urban fauna" and, of course, add your own "painting of light" (aka photographs), pertaining to the theme.

This one warrants a little explanation. As I saw this young Lady for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I could not help but to think about Keith and his experience at a social event. Her stance, her appearance and her beauty captivated my eye...and of course I did not have any camera with me - until this day last week, when I saw her the 4th time. Sheer "luck" wanted that she sat down just next to where I was standing. She closed her eyes, just like that and...in an almost "Grace Kelly quality" pose, she let life around her be, let her body rest and her mind peacefully absconded to places only she knows. I allowed myself to "intrude".
