In Düsseldorf we still have a lot of gas lanterns. Unfortunately, the administration of the town has recently decided to electrify or replace nearly all of them. I am not happy with it, because they are very beautiful.

These lamps were one of the most common styles in the former German Democratic Republic. The citizens simply called them "Löffel" (Spoon). Most of them have been replaced by now (the lamps, not the citizens).
