W/NW Leica Summicron 50mm

Sweet.
Can you tell us (me!) how you're rating the film and which dilution/timing you're using with the Rodinal?

I rate the APX at iso 100. Develop in Rodinal 1:50 for 13 minutes.
Inversions: continues first 30 seconds. Followed by 2 inversions each minute.

This gives a flat file good for scanning. Finaly a simple contrastcurve in Photoshop that's it.

I just sold the v. 4 50mm 'cron that I've had in my bag for a dozen years.

Kinda makes me sad – it's a fantastic optic with great ergos. But try as I might, I've just never gotten along with the 50mm FL. With a 24 or 35 or 85 I usually have a reasonable idea of what I'm going to get. When I get a good shot with the 50 (rare) it always feels as though it was blind luck.

Maybe I'll get a 75 Summarit.

Superb shots!

I thought my old 1953 collapsible Summicron had a little pixie dust trapped between the elements, but I see many folks enjoy that certain magic from their Summicrons, whatever their age (of the lens I mean of course).

Here's the latest on TMY2.
