Very interesting thread, I found out later. Minimalism is a field that can have many interpretations. Here is my contribution:

Thank you Rob! The word 'minimalism' is perhaps a little like a 'passe-partout': it seems an excuse to say something more, pretending to say less. Your beautiful image above (minimalism + abstract) by Jupiter-8?

J-8 indeed. Thanks, Luigi. See Simon's (simon saw sunlight) thread about "Leaving the theater." It would appear, and I'm not sure he's wrong about this, that we are all "acting" all the time. Not only the flamboyant hibachi chef just outside the frame in Paul's photo (very cool shot, Paul!), but all of us "posing" from time to time as photographers. Guilty as charged. To paraphrase the Bard: Just strutting and fretting my hour upon the stage.

Anyway, glad I managed to keep my foot out of that shot!😉
