Lovely quality shots from you and the Fuji cameras, Mike. The Classic Chrome simulation looks spot-on. The guy riding that bike looks like he's taking a big risk in traffic. One hand off the bars and no front brake - what could possibly go wrong?Shifting gears

Hello John! And, thank you for the kind comment. His left hand is off the handle bars because he's shifting gears with it. If you click on the image two times it should zoom in so you can see it more clearly.

It's not all riding 'em. Sometimes they need fixing too. I've just started re-assembling my BMW F800GS after a 150,000 kilometre service. It'll take a while...

I like Classic and Neo-Classic motorcycles. I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for the Triumph 750 Bonneville. When I saw this one in traffic I snapped a picture just before they sped off down the road. When I got home and looked at it on my PC I thought it looked too big to be a 750 Bonneville. After zooming in and getting some clues to the identity of this bike I found that it’s a “Triumph Bonneville T120 1200”... a 1200cc Bonnie! What a beast!

As I recall, this ^^^ one was a fairly close copy of a Royal Enfield.

A copy? Oh dear that and the oversized Bonnerville have ruined my day.
The joy of the Bonnerville was that old coppers were always stopping to chat and enthuse.

Maybe so, Doug, but my understanding is that it was inspired by a BSA.
Either way, after 50 years these beauties are still rolling down the highway!

Kawasaki did a homage remake of the W 650 around 2000-2005, known imaginatively as the W650. Wasn’t widely available in the States as I recall, but favorably reviewed. Had thoughts of getting one as it was on my (long) short list. Made a W800 as well for a while. Both the original and the remake were pretty bikes.
Could well be, Mike, as it does rather resemble the 1959 BSA 650 Rocket A10Maybe so, Doug, but my understanding is that it was inspired by a BSA.
All the best,
Mike
