My five are as far as I know not in my gallery. They are all of kids from the Intensive Community Program (ICP) of GBYSO - my long-term documentary project. ICP is a program for the underserved areas of Boston to encourage an interest in playing music among children who might not otherwise be exposed to a musical education. There are scholarships and free equipment for those who show an aptitude for music and a willingness to work at it in a disciplined manner.

The kids are truly inspiring and develop a remarkable passion for classical music at an early age that seems to endure. Many ICP kids are now moving up into GBYSO's senior orchestras and will have aspirations (like many GBYSO kids) of entering a conservatory when they graduate from high school.

ICP are playing a Holiday Concert tonight at Roxbury Community College Media Arts Building at 1234 Columbus Avenue in Roxbury with guests the Boston Children's Chorus. If you are in the Boston area and have young kids, come on over for a great time and see these beautiful children take great joy in expressing their talents! :)

Kiev... I think.

BTW, do you think we can get Jorge to go with larger thumbnails for the attachments? Easier to do n/nw that way.... the larger thumbnails in the gallery was _great_.

A not very good photo of a very good musician:

Blue Note trumpet player Erik Truffaz in concert at the Espace Senghor, Brussels, Belgium, October 2003.
This guy is my jazz hero, and I blame myself for not taking a better picture of him on stage.

Hey, this one's really good! A slight cropping from the top right corner would make it even better IMHO. Anyway, good job. Do you have any other in the same vein?
Cheers
