You don't need a lot of expensive equipment and software and so on to make panoramas. I recently bought an old and battered P&S camera in a charity shop and used it to take some photo's of a local flooded park. The camera, case, two batteries, SD card and software came to under ten pounds to buy but I had to search out things and the pdf of the instruction manual.
