W/NW: Paris (from behind a Canon 50/1.5 LTM)

just got back from a week in Paris and I'm slowly sorting through 12 rolls of film... didn't shoot as much as I would have liked, but it was overcast and or raining most days ... here are a few of my favourites from the first three rolls I've gone through...

These are great pictures, you have captured the spirit of Paris very well. I have visited Paris on numerous occasions, it is such a nice city to photograph, espcially when you wander off the typical tourist tracks. I especially like the staircase picture (the last but one picture you posted). I look forward to seeing more pictures. Congratulations.

I agree, about the series. I recognize most of the places, except the staircase; I thought that was at Fondation HCB, but they weren't spirals...

Nice pictures you did BTW, and just like Rolleistef says, the kind of picture we don't 'try' to do. I guess Willy Ronis, Doisneau, Brassaï and Co. are a too strong heritage for us ! It's always interesting and refreshing to see foreigners' vision of your own city. Post more !

Foundation Henri Cartier Bresson?

I believe that staircase picture is from the Foundation Henri Cartier Bresson, correct? If not, that's what the stairs look like there 🙂

Nice shots. I always enjoy the casual shots from in front of the Louvre, I spend a fair amount of time there when in Paris (Good old Cafe Marly).

Out of interest, what film were you using?

The photos are beautiful, and they capture very well the Paris atmosphere. The lens is obviously a nice one. I once tested such a lens and I liked it.

Really beuatiful photos! I was only for one day in Paris back in 2005, but enjoyed every second of it. Hope to get back there someday.
