My niece-in-law, the bride, and her husband appreciate it too. I got to play the role of #3 photographer, so to speak, to poach the available lighting from the hired shooters and videographers, to stick to b/w, and shoot only what I liked.
Conclusion: I make a good #2 wedding photographer-- getting the candid/expressive/ available light images. But I'd never want to be the #1. Too much direction, staging, and pressure to show all the participants at their smiliest most composed perfection.
