dfoo, love that shot with the pink bike, and Arjay, your luggage shot in Barcelona is just awsome!
Here are a couple of sidewalk shots over the weekend in chicago.

That shot came out of a crappy little digital P&S that mercilessly renders everything in perfect focus, with a DOF that drives the tears into my eyes every time I see its pictures. I hated the thing so much that in the end, I gave the camera away.why the 'pseudo' bokeh?
Do you think the picture would look better if everything were sharp as a razor?

@Arjay - love the colors in "Rainy Night in Barcelona". Reflected rain from streets in lower light often looks great.
@simon - 1st one is quite nice - great isolation with the leaf
@volk - way to be there!!
Last weekend was taking a drive through Oak Bluffs on the Vineyard, and saw this man and his dog, so had to park for a bit to grab a shot.
M9 with 35/2 Biogon. Prepared exposure and estimated focus, then approached and took the first shot
The dog took notice and I squeezed off another as I passed by..
We had a nice chat, and I took one more while he was carving.

I think so, yes. in fact, I see no elementary problem with large DOF. it looks too 'cheap' now (especially the fact that the bokeh's edge is so sharp and bent/rounded), if you know what I mean
