Doug,

if I'm not mistaken that place is what used to be small town in France bombed and destroyed by Germans in the beginning of WWII. It's preserved as open museum for future generations.

And yes, it's very special place indeed...

Hi. It is a town called Oradour sur Glane. In july 1944 the Das Reich division coming back from the south of France and moving to the Normandy front were regularly attacked by partisans. So, they decided to hang 99 factory workers in the town of Tulle on the 9th of July, and the next day they came in Oradour. They locked the men in barns, women and children in the church. They shot the men, burned the women and children alive, then burned the whole village. 642 people were killed. Only 6 managed to escape. Since that day, the town remain untouched.

No special effect for the pictures. yellow filter, darkrooms prints.

From last weekend. Trying candid, pre-focused, no-crop, hip-shot with Mamiya 7. I think that can be done. Need more practice though.

a stroll through downtown a few weeks ago. I was carrying a cake in one hand but the light was just too good to put the camera down. The cake came out pretty well, only one smooshed side...
