W/NW: Rocks...

May I ask the way you managed to get all these great images about a week apart to be exactly framed the same? I have thought of several projects like this but aside from screwing a tripod mount to a stump I have been...stumped.

Thank you for your interest. These pictures were not shot in regular time intervals, but whenever I walked by there, what happens to be quite regularly. When you look closely, the framing is not exactly the same. All pictures were shot freehand from roughly the same spot with some space around the rock and cropped in post. There are at least five different cameras involved, color and B&W and the focal length was eyeballed.
The slight "unprecision" is a crucial factor for me when making these multiples.

Thank you, that is a lovely album of multiples, and I see whaat you mean about the slight imprecision being important. I asked because, being a new year, there are a couple of landscapes around my house that change due to seasons, weather, wind and tide. I want to document a full year at least of these scenes. I don’t tend to get out and wander looking for subjects, and I am fortunate to have lovely scenes and objects right here. Your multiples are quite an inspiration.

Thank you! This is an endless theme! What I learned in all these years is not to push yourself too hard. After all we do it for fun, don´t we?

Didn't see a thread for spelunking so thought I'd post these here. A rock view from the inside. These were shot back during the seventies in the South Eastern Rockies of Alberta. A friend called and wanted to know if I was interested in exploring a crystal filled cave with them. We were able to drive fairly close and a scramble down the mountain brought us to the opening.......... M4 , 35mm Summilux

Just for fun I asked my friends to hold still while I tried 1 second at f/1.4. Had back against rock with elbows braced, not too shabby for handheld.

Hope there are no balrogs in here.........
