The 'Airstrip House' | Cradle Mountain, Tasmania
F2, Nikkor 28/f2.8 Ais and HP5+
This was one of the early residences in Cradle Valley, likely built by the Ellis brothers mid-Century. Apparently it was moved to its current location to make way for the Cradle Mountain Airport, which has since become the Visitors Centre carpark...
As far as I know it's never been used since moving to it's current home. There are regen eucalypts growing through the verandah...

Great shot! In normal times I would be planning a road trip to Maine with my 5x7 just to shoot this.

It is a lovely shot, and a record of things now gone. The wrecks rotted to a point at which they became a public hazard, and they were removed quite a few years ago. The schooners were made in the 1920s and were obsolete almost immediately. The Hesper and the Luther Little. And the town is Wiscasset.
