W/NW Sea creatures and underwater world

Nice!! Would love to dive in those exotic sites one day. (so far Shikoku in Japan and Maui are the only "away" sites I've done)

Great color in that last image of yours!

I managed to get to Okinawa for some diving when I was in Japan in 2005. The Keramas (sp?) islands were beautfiul. Apparently this was where the Marines first went just before invading Okinawa in WW II.

Lucky you to dive in Maui. Actually my screen name Ornate Wrasse comes from a fish I saw when diving in Maui. I was so struck with its beauty that I chose the name as my handle. What's neat about diving in Hawaii is that something like 25 or 30% (I forget the exact percentage) of the marine life is endemic to Hawaii and you will never see it anywhere else.

I don't envy you for diving in the cold waters of Monterey, though. I used to dive in Puget Sound where the average temp was 46-50. Dry suit and all. But I became a warm water wuss and my days of diving cold water are over.

A good forum, BTW, for everything related to underwater photography is www.wetpixel.com

Cheers,

Ellen
