Nikon Sam (and a few others) thanks for displaying the creativity to do something other than stand in front of a mirror taking a photo of you and your camera taking a photo of you and your camera.
Possibly taking a look at Cindy Sherman's "untitled movie stills" will inspire others to expand their horizons of what a self portrait can be. I bought the book back when it was affordable but there are many of the images on line.

I lack creativity, so I did the whole stand in front of a mirror schtick. What if I use a selfie stick, Bob?
Kidding aside, I found this article posted last week on NPR's The Picture Show to be inspiring. All the self portraits were taken with a Mamiya C330:

Sorry, Bob, still lacking creativity. Plus, I couldn't find a selfie stick strong enough to hold up my hefty M5. Actually, this photo was taken before Bob's fine commentary.

Canon T90 w/ a FD 135 2.5 "beer can" lens. Tri-X developed full strength in TD-16. That stuff I remember quite well, but where, or when, I took this photo I have no idea.
