W/NW Show me your nice fountain pens

It feels like a breakthrough.
I'd been trying to fit flex nibs to fountain pens, with sorry results. Not enough ink. Or much too much. I present my self-built Piston pen, with a gigantic reservoir, a fitted ebonite feed, and a Zebra G nib :

Wet ink. Laying thick on the paper. No drips, no drops, no dribbles, just ink on demand.

You can sort of see the precision of the fit here : the back end of the nib is in full contact with the section, except for a tiny but that has been pushed up by the edge of the embossing.

It goes on writing like this for pages and pages. No false starts, no railroading. All the ink I need on demand. I'm chuffed.

Once in a while, a picture formed in my mind before I photograph it. When I get the bottle of Smoky Quartz 2017 Edition of the Edelstein ink at the Pelikan Hub meet last week, I knew that I will have to do a picture of it with my Pelikan 500 Tortoise.

So here we are, finally, a pair of birds, one born in 1950's and the other in 2017. Birds of a feather they are, no only carrying the same name, but their color matches too. Perfectly.

Sometimes, things just go together, you know what I mean?

Not sure how I missed this thread.
I am currently having some computer issues, so this photo is one I posted to facebook of my most recent vintage pen.

And, a pen that I had Brian Gray--Edison Pens--make for me:

Two of my favorites right now. Though I really like and use the Kaweco Sport pens. Inexpensive, sturdy, and good writers for me.

That is really nice!

I've fit a Titanium Zebra nib into a JinHao cheapy. The problem I have found after months of use is it works perfectly right when it is clean and freshly filled. After the pen sits, it will start to have issues with ink flow. I enlarged the feed as well, so the problem I think is just the surface area of the nib. I tried storing it nib down to keep the nib wet, but the ink drained into the cap! Made a mess. At least I know the pen doesn't have a problem with flow, lol.

I don't use the Zebra nib for writing though. More for drawing. It helps to get it going again after a few days of sitting by dunking it in the ink bottle. I use Noodler's Borealis Black in it FWIW.
