Yes, the VAT is a silly amount. £2-28 would be the right maths... And you'd expect the price to end in a 9 anyway; like petrol. And that rule survived the change from gallons to litres.

OTOH, it's a supermarket and I don't expect sense or fairness from them. You have to watch them like hawks.
