I volunteer at our camera club once a week to help with printing, scanning and other post-processing work, and sometimes to run workshops and take studio portraits. Stephen is one of the other volunteers.

Portrait of a colleague & friend. Bruno Engler was a Swiss Mountain guide, photographer, film maker & well-loved character in the Canadian Rockies. Leica M6, Noctilux 50mm, Ilford Delta 100 (f1 @ 1/15")..... camera balanced on a beer bottle. Print on Ilford Warmtone FB. The print hangs in a number of heli-ski lodges.

It seems beer helps! Love this portrait because of the expression of the subject, the smile, his eyes...great work, well done!

Thank you Robert. It was a quick photo taken during one of the events celebrating a 100yrs of mountain guiding in Canada....rather an a photo session. I took 2 frames only....the other shows Bruno scowling. I have printed the two & mounted them as a diptych.
I had been photographing outside so i had Delta 100 in the camera....it was kind of a miracle image allowed only by the Noctilux 50mm and a beer bottle for a tabletop monopod.
