Humans have a seemingly endless capacity to find new and amusing ways to entertain themselves or pass the time. Occasionally in conjunction with the consumption of alcohol - but mostly in just good fun. Lawnmower and lounge chair racing come to mind. Some cultural practices might also seem strange but true - but please, be respectful in what you post here.
Here's one to start the thread. I never imagined people would get up to this. They even have a World Championships! Unicycle hockey, anyone?

It's Japan, I don't even know anymore.
To be fair this was on Halloween so strangeness was a plenty.

Khade Baba Rampriyedas, he had vowed not to lie nor sit down for 14 years, to only stand usually on just one leg and not to talk, of course only eat vegetarian and also no grains, but these last points are sure minor. When I took this he had been taken doing that since 9 months

Standing Baba' Rampriye Das by Andreas, on Flickr
he didn't make it and stopped about one year later. This practice has it's tradition in India but encountered very rarely. This man, Kailash Giri, had been doing it since about 8 years when I took the pic, note that 'Standing Babas" do use a 'swing' they lean on, but I observed that they never can fully fall asleep, loose consciousness because if they fully gave in the swing would give way to one side

Kailash Giri by Andreas, on Flickr
Kailash Giri also is a "Naga Baba", that is he stays naked but covers himself with ashes to protect from sun, dirt asf., just like this Baba
